Karisma Hotels & Resorts just announced the first-ever Autism Concierge, a contact for all autism-related questions at resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. This initiative was done in partnership with Autism Double-Checked, an industry organization that aims to better serve guests with autism through industry-specific and job-specific training for all public-facing staff.
The concierge service will allow families traveling with a child or adult with autism to ask about specific needs while at the resort (via the resort’s visitor guide) and during the planning process. Guests and advisors looking for support while planning vacations can contact the Autism Concierge at autism_concierge@karismahotels.com.
"We continually work to exceed our guests' expectations by adapting ourselves to their needs," said Daniel Lozano, vice president of operations at Karisma Hotels & Resorts. "In addition to ongoing training, this added resource will assure guests that we take their concerns seriously and that we want them to feel at home at our resorts."
In addition to the Autism Concierge, every member of Karisma’s staff has completed Autism Double-Checked courses in order to assist guests with autism. This year, the resort group also plans to introduce temporary door alarms, available upon request, to ensure loved ones are safe and secure.
