This Is the Kind of Facial A-List Celebs Get Before Awards Shows — And Travelers Can, Too

Glow like Margot Robbie, Helena Bonham Carter and Michelle Williams at the Spa at Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, where these leading ladies have come for facials before awards events and press junkets.

A new $500 treatment — called the MBR Red Carpet Firming and Detox Facial — is capitalizing on the spa’s glitzy reputation, promising A-list skin for celebs and non-celebs alike in just 90 minutes. (Other facials at the spa range from the totally natural Eco-Luxury Organic Facial to the MBR Liquid Surgery Facial, which promises reversed ageing for $1,000.)

Leah, an aesthetician at the spa, says that celebs love facials that relax their nerves and rejuvenate their skin. Both get tired during award season, she says, when late nights and successive events cause dehydration, puffiness and irritation.

The new treatment features only products from Medical Beauty Research (aka MBR), a technology-forward line known for its patented products made in small batches.

In between layering products — such as Cross Lift Serum Ultrapeptide and Cytoline Eyecare Firming Concentrate — Leah massaged my shoulders and feet, and applied tools such as a microcurrent electrical neuromuscular stimulator and a LED light panel. Post-facial, we marveled at the lift in my cheekbones and my skin’s overall firmness and glow. All that was missing were the lights of the red carpet.
