Ahead of the launch of its new Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line is continuing to preview the ship’s spaces for children, tweens and teens with themes from “Star Wars” to classic Disney characters.

“With even more spaces, stories and characters than ever before, the stage is set for a lineup of truly remarkable new experiences for children onboard the Disney Wish,” said Jim Urry, vice president of entertainment and port adventures for Disney Cruise Line, in a press release. “We’re combining renowned Disney entertainment, expertly developed programming and imaginative storytelling to put kids in the center of their own adventures right alongside some of Disney’s most beloved characters, like Mickey Mouse, Chewbacca, Black Panther, Rapunzel, Belle, Anna and Elsa and more.”

With even more spaces, stories and characters than ever before, the stage is set for a lineup of truly remarkable new experiences for children onboard the Disney Wish.

For kids ages 3 to 12, Disney’s Oceaneer Club will showcase Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall and Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, all of which have been previously detailed, as well as the all-new Star Wars: Cargo Bay, and Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck.

Young fans of Star Wars will be invited to become creature handlers, taking care of a porg, Loth-cat, worrt and more. In “Star Wars: Creature Challenge,” participants will not only feed and track the critters, but will also be recruited to help deliver a pair of stowaways — none other than Rey and Chewbacca — to the Resistance.

Additionally, Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck will be “a nautical playground inspired by the colors, icons and magic of Disney Cruise Line,” according to the line. Children can expect maritime-themed games and activities, including pipe slides, crawl-throughs, ship’s wheels, ship controls and even life preserver seating. Meanwhile, during “Minnie’s Captain Academy,” kids will dance and perform maritime drills, as well as be challenged by STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) principles. Then, after checking their progress, Captain Minnie herself will dub the young cruisers honorary captains.

For older tweens (ages 11 to 14) and teens (14 to 17 years old), The Hideaway will be a third club (along with dedicated Edge and Vibe tween and teen clubs). The area will have its own dance floor and DJ booth, and will feature karaoke contests and dance competitions. The venue will be located next door to Vibe so it can also be opened to the teen space, closed off for tweens or reserved just for young adults ages 18 to 20.

The Hideaway will be retro-inspired, complete with a “Hiya, pal” mural; Edge will be adorned as an indoor solarium with a skylight effect; and Vibe will sport French columns, pop art murals, a Mickey Mouse statue and more.
Disney Wish is scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022.
