Travel bookings to France during the 2024 Olympic Games are up 52% compared to the same period last year, according to research collected by Amadeus business intelligence data. International air travel is up 56% for the Olympic period (July 24 - Aug. 13), while domestic air travel is up 31%.

In Paris, most travelers will be from the United States, Japan, and Canada. Marseille will see many Americans, while Lille will host Algerians and British visitors. Bordeaux will have a strong presence of British and American travelers. Nice and Lyon will see more Americans and Germans, while Nantes will have a significant German and Canadian presence.

Hotel occupancy rates in France for the week of July 28 are up 86% compared to last year, and up 88% the first week of August. Paris hotels are nearly full, with 81% occupancy for the week of July 28. Lille's hotel occupancy rates have increased by 171% for the same week. Marseille's rates have more than doubled compared to 2023.
Alternative accommodations in Paris show a 64% increase in nights sold for the Olympics and 74% for the Paralympics.
